One of the best bed and breakfast stays we've ever had. Beautiful and spacious accommodations and a delicious breakfast! The innkeepers were very nice (just the right personalities for hosts) and the tour Brenda gave of the main home was so interesting and enjoyable. We look forward to staying here again!

What a wonderful find! We stayed three days to ride The Trace on our motorcycles and seek out the history of the area. The property is so tranquil. Our room was beautiful. The breakfast couldn’t have been better. But the best part of the stay is the owner/operator’s Brenda and Charles. Brenda is, as I describe, a facilitator at the State Legislature to guide things along there, and Charles is one of the founding members of the Battle of Raymond Preservation Society. The cultural insight they provided was priceless and made our stay so rewarding!
They also provided us with recommendations on where to eat (don’t miss the Gibbes Store Restaurant) in nearby Learned. Not to mention the tour of their meticulously restored (by them) home and it’s history. We are so happy we chose to stay here! Wished we could have stayed a couple more days.

The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable and Charles and Brenda were wonderful. They are so accommodating and helpful. It was like visiting good friends. We felt like they were friends by the end of our 3 day stay. They gave us restaurant recommendations for every evening and told us all about the historic plantation. What a treat to get a private tour of the house with all of the stories about the people who lived there.

We were biking and ran into an ice storm and were having problems the last 20 miles-called and the hosts found someone who could get us and our 3 bikes. They were equally gracious when we arrived getting dinner as they knew we wouldn't want to ride to town- breakfast and dinner in main house and sleep in the cottage - all in all a perfect place to stay.

I have stayed at this wonderful cottage before and couldn’t wait for the opportunity to return. The innkeepers, Charles and Brenda Davis, are the ultimate hosts and treated me as if I were family. Their wealth of knowledge about the history of the area is remarkable and exciting. The cottage and the Dupree House are situated on the Natchez Trace in the midst of the most beautiful and tranquil country setting ever. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious! I’m already missing the serenity and calm, but the memories of this peaceful and lovely haven and the friendship of Charles and Brenda will always be with me.

The experience could not have been better. After biking, we were welcomed warmly with fresh brownies, comfortable beds, and delicious food. The owners did everything to make our stay perfect. We really enjoyed meeting Brenda and Charles. An amazing experience which I am sure I will have to repeat!

What a lovely place! Charles and Brenda were very kind, and despite our late arrival, they were very gracious! The privacy of the cottage and the spaciousness was very enjoyable. The home and grounds were very beautiful and the breakfast was delicious!

We can't wait to go back! Great location (especially if you are a cyclist), the restored cottage was comfortable and inviting, the hosts were extra special and helpful, and we had to waddle away from the table after breakfast! Plan on eating supper at Gibbes and Sons in Learned if you are there Thursday-Saturday. We waddled away from there too! First time riding on the Trace. Busy around Clinton but minimal traffic south of the Cottage.

My wife and I got married married at the Dupree House ten years ago and decided to spend our 10th anniversary at Mamie's Cottage. We had a wonderful time, we spent hours on the porch watching distant thunderstorms roll past and listening to nature. The hospitality was the best we have had in a LONG time. The breakfast was wonderful and nothing short of spectacular. We both can not wait until we get the chance to go back again.

Great country setting right on the Natchez Trace. The cottage and the main house were fantastic. Brenda is very interesting to talk with, she is a wealth of knowledge about the history of the area and it was obvious she loved sharing her stories with us. The breakfast (incredible blue berry pancakes) was great fuel for our bike ride down the trace. My wife arrived there ill, they were very accommodating & understanding.

We had a wonderful and memorable experience and would definitely go back to Mamie’s Cottage again. The innkeepers were absolutely delightful to get to know and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. Breakfast was delicious. The one thing that I loved about Mamie’s Cottage and the Dupree House was its seclusion. I could not get over how quiet and peaceful it was. And to be able to look up into a pitch black sky and see all those stars…it took my breath away.
Thanks for sending us where good memories were made and to a place just this side of Eden.
