Tuscumbia, the county seat of Colbert County, is located in northwest Alabama about 20 miles east of the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Helen Keller, America's First Lady of Courage, was born in Tuscumbia. Her birthplace known as Ivy Green, is open daily for tours and the "The Miracle Worker" is presented each summer by talented local performers.
The Alabama Music Hall of Fame, located on Highway 72 in Tuscumbia, showcases the musical accomplishments of Alabama natives.
Located in the heart of downtown, Spring Park's lake, waterfall, fountains, walkways and pavillions are a beautiful setting for picnics, arts and crafts shows, and recreation for the entire family.
