Updated on August 31, 2023:

  • On August 31, 2023 the National Park Service reopened the Natchez Trace Parkway from milepost 321 (intersection with US 72) to milepost 326.3 (intersection with North Pike Road) near the town of Cherokee, Alabama.
One lane closures will continue as necessary to complete striping and final project cleanup. Please use caution in the area and continue to watch out for workers and equipment.
  • These 5 miles were the last section of the 40-mile-long (from milepost 291 to milepost 331) Parkway Road Rehabilitation and Paving Project (that began on November 3, 2021).

A different section of the Parkway just south of Tupelo, MS is closed for road rehabilitation and repaving. For information, map and directions: click here
