The Parkway Information Cabin at Ridgeland sits just off the parkway at milepost 102.4 in the building that previously was home to the Mississippi Crafts Center. Several years ago the crafts center moved a couple of miles away to a larger facility.
The information center is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parkway visitors can discover Choctaw history and culture, pick-up Natchez Trace Parkway maps and information, purchase books or patches in the Eastern National Sales outlet, and talk with volunteers.
Restroom facilities are open every day.
The information center's phone number is 601-898-9417.
Ridgeland Multi-Use Path
The parking area behind the cabin is also a trail-head for the Ridgeland Multi-Use Path which parallels the parkway from the Ross Barnett Reservoir area to just south of I-55 with construction and plans to extend the trail all the way to Clinton, MS. When car traffic is heavy cyclists can exit the parkway at the north end at Reservoir Overlook (milepost 105.6) and at the south end at the Choctaw Agency (milepost 100.7).
