We arrived after a longish day of biking from the north end of the Natchez Trace. We were later getting in than we had planned, but Scherry graciously drove us into Hohenwald where we picked up some supper. As we drove she gave us information about Hohenwald and the surrounding area. After a peaceful, comfortable sleep in the Rhett Butler Room - BEAUTIFULLY DONE! - we arose to a wonderful, filling breakfast before getting underway. Scherry makes an AWESOME, completely homemade breakfast!! If you're biking or driving the Trace, we would heartily recommend a stay at Miss Scarlett's!! Her home is on a quiet, country lane only a short distance from the Parkway.

Southern hospitality at its finest! Scherry has outdone herself with beautiful interior decorations in this peaceful B&B getaway. Such a quiet atmosphere after long days at the office was just what I needed! Breakfasts were absolutely delicious with hearty portions and great conversation. I will definitely be back!

Scherry is awesome!! It all started with a phone call making our reservation. I saw the delicious pies on the Natchez Trace Travel website and asked if she made apple fritters! She said she would make me some. So needless to say we were looking forward to our stay. We were loaded bicycle touring the Trace and had a broken spoke on the day we were supposed to stay at Scherry’s. I called her and asked if we could change our reservation for the next night as it was going to take a day to fix and Scherry very gracious said yes and that it would be no problem. (We were lucky she wasn’t booked up!) We got in the next day and very tired along with needing a shower and to do laundry. While we were in town doing laundry and eating dinner she made us the fritters! We got back and she was just finishing. We sat at her kitchen table drank coffee and ate fritters (sooo good!) and talked like we knew her our whole lives. We didn’t plan this but we ended up talking to her while she prepped an egg casserole for breakfast the next day, we talked to her for hours. Also the house is so very quiet we slept so well! Breakfast the next day (more chatting with Scherry!) and had egg casserole and biscuits. The biscuits were the best biscuits we have ever had. Made from scratch. Scherry has a gift for hospitality and it shows. 5 stars.

Needing a peaceful getaway, we found our heaven on earth. Miss Scarlett’s not only was immaculate, fresh, clean and comfortable with beautiful surroundings and a refreshing sleep, the hospitality was unlike any we’ve ever experienced. Special touches with china and crystal and delectable dining- this woman is amazing! With God providing His perfect backdrop of nature; hummingbirds, bluebirds, evening choruses of katydids and bullfrogs- Scherry’s loving spirit and kindness overflows in this beautiful and cozy home. We are so thankful for her sharing her love and home with us - 5 stars!! And we will be back!!

I was made very welcome in a warm, comfortable, inviting home. For an extra fee, Scherry prepares a dinner for you. She popped it in the oven while I took a shower, and then fed me the best chicken pot pie I have ever had. There were croissants and a kale salad as a side, and the most stunningly beautiful dessert. After I had stuffed my face on that delicious pot pie - and if you’re really lucky maybe Scherry will make that for you too - I felt badly that I couldn’t do justice to the amazing dessert. The bed was warm and very comfortable. The home was spotlessly clean. Scherry washed my cycling clothes and hung them to dry. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with eggs, bacon, fruit, and all the fixins. It had me well filled for another long day of cycling ahead of me. I recommend Miss Scarlett’s for it’s warm welcome, its comfort, its convenient location to the trace, and for the delicious food. If you’re lucky she’ll tell you all about her experiences living in Africa. Fascinating!

Scherry is amazing. As nice as can be. The breakfasts were without a doubt the best we had on our entire 3 week bike trip. Besides biking our favorite hobby is researching the best places to eat. And again, Scherry’s breakfast were superior to any other. We hope to stay again with Scherry. And we couldn’t have been more comfortable with the accommodations and her company. 100% thumbs up.

Scherry is a great hostess. Not only does she have a comfortable, clean property, but her breakfast and baked goods are outstanding. She is well-travelled herself, so she knows the little touches that are so welcome after a day on the road. And she packs a pretty mean picnic lunch!
