Read with a Ranger - Big Night for Salamanders - Tupelo, Mississippi

The Natchez Trace Parkway invites children and their families to come and enjoy “Big Night for Salamanders” as part of the Read with a Ranger program. The 45 minute program starts at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo, MS at milepost 266.

Participants will hear the story “Big Night for Salamanders” and embark on a virtual nail-biting journey as salamanders attempt to cross a busy road to lay their eggs in a spring pond. Will Ethan and his parents be able to help the amphibians make it across to safety? After the story, find out about the yellow-spotted salamander and the Parkway’s own salamander crossing.
