Spring wildflowers always bloom abundantly in the area we now call the Chickasaw Village Site. Join a park ranger to learn about the plants and flowers that were there when the Chickasaw people lived at the site, find out what plant life was brought in by others who migrated to this area, and join in speculation about the future of this national park site. The Wildflower Walk begins at 9:30am at the Chickasaw Village Site (milepost 261.8) on the Natchez Trace Parkway, just south of the McCullough Boulevard crossing in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Meet at the Chickasaw Village pavilion, at 9:30am for a fairly slow and easy 1 1/2hour walk. Wear closed toe comfortable shoes. Insect repellent is suggested. If it’s hot bring water. Be sure to check our Facebook page the morning of the walk, in case the walk has been postponed because of weather, or other unforeseeable events.

This program is free to the public.
