Camp Wonder Wander Retreat and Campground - Hohenwald, TN

COVID-19 Information about Camp Wonder Wander

We are open.

Camp Wonder Wander allows for self-isolated groups rather than multiple travelers at the same time. To allow time for thorough cleaning we won't be doing back to back reservations - departures/arrivals on the same day. We are implementing a new check-in procedure using a RING doorbell for arrivals at various times as well as to keep social distancing.

Looking for an outdoor's social distancing experience? Consider Camp Wonder Wander's campground.

Until things are completely back to "normal" we are also offering a virtual travel experience! click here.

Camp Wonder Wander is a nature immersion and creativity retreat center on 17 acres along the Buffalo River in Lewis County. The location, near the Natchez Trace Parkway between Waynesboro and Hohenwald, is an hour and half drive from Nashville.

Inspired by travels and a youth filled with nature and girl scout camping, this space is a combination of a farm stay with chickens, donkeys, and organic garden with fruit trees; campground on the Buffalo River; and an artist/writer residency and art space with burgeoning open gallery (think murals and installations) with a pottery studio for workshops. Camp Wonder Wander is available to rent for your personal retreat, vacation or group travel. Bicyclists welcome!

  • Book the LEMON LODGE for your group up to 14. If you want more space to spread out, you can reserve the RASPBERRY RESIDENCY HOUSE based on availability. Or choose a combination of tent rental with lodging.
  • Book a Forest Therapy Guided session with your host who is certified by ANFT.
  • Book a Naturalist Walk session if you are interested in learning more about the particular ecology, geology, and flora/fauna of this region.
  • Book a pottery lesson or other creative workshops (ask Val!).
  • (click here for guest room pictures, info and guest rates)
