Come visit the Shaifer House (Holly Hill)* and experience life on a Mississippi homestead in the mid-1800s and the dramatic events that unfolded right here on this quiet corner of land.

This event is free to the general public on Saturday, September 21st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. See living history skits and first person interpretations of 19th century era events. Enjoy period music and demonstrations of blacksmithing, wooden bowl and African tapestry making, and more.

Shuttle service is available from Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, 1144 Rodney Road, Port Gibson, MS. Directions to Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church: In Port Gibson, travel south on Church Street (Hwy 61); turn right onto Carrol Street; continue onto Rodney Road for 1.1 miles; the church will be on the left.

This is event is presented by the Friends of the Port Gibson Battlefield Committee.
