Living History of Champion Hill - Clinton, Mississippi

Sid Champion, fifth generation of Sid Champion, will present a show-and-tell program on the history of Champion Hill and why one of the Civil War’s most famous battles was called the “Battle of Champion Hill”. Rebecca Blackwell Drake, historian and author, will be joining Sid with her Civil War books and share knowledge of the Civil War letters written by his great-great grandmother, Matilda Champion. The event will be held on Saturday, April 2, inside the Clinton Visitor Center, from 10am-3pm. Sid Champion will speak at 11:00am and 1:00pm.

There will be an assortment of Civil War relics on display by Jamie Stubbs and genuine Civil War bullets and relics for purchase by T. K. Saul.

The program is free and the public is invited to attend.
